Make A Difference Saturday events will be held in Fall 2024 - Dates to be announced soon!

United Way of Western Crawford County’s Make a Difference Saturday event was held Saturday, April 6, 2024 - This service event completed four critical home repairs for local low-income and senior homeowners throughout Western Crawford County. Project requests ranging from, among others, ramps to porch/step repair to general yard maintenance were completed by Community Improvement Center committee members in partnership with Allegheny College student volunteers.

See below for ways you and your organization can participate.
1. Donate: We provide a light breakfast and lunch for project volunteers to boost their energy throughout the day, especially on time-consuming projects. These items include:
- Bottled Water/ Coffee/ Hot Chocolate
- Donuts/Muffins
- Fruit (apples, bananas, etc.)
- Granola Bars
Please note: Lending works too! We also use a variety of tools for projects throughout the day: rakes, hedge trimmers, power-washers, shovels, etc. Any support in this area is greatly appreciated!
2. Volunteer
Service events would be impossible without the volunteers. We ask local organizations and residents to form a team to participate. Please encourage your colleagues and friends to join this effort! Having a team participate in these events can enhance the visibility of your organization and commitment to the community. Please call (814) 337-1251.

Hours of Operation - Monday - Friday: 8:30am to 2:30pm
*Organizers stress that submitting an application doesn’t guarantee the project will be accepted. Volunteers will visit work sites to assess the safety and the scope of the project.
