BATTLE OF THE BLADES RECAP:
What a night! 🎯
Thank you to everyone who came out Saturday, April 18, 2026, to support United Way’s inaugural Battle of the Blades axe-throwing fundraiser at MN Axe Meadville. The energy, creativity, and community spirit made this first event one to remember!
Teams competed for the charity of their choice, and after an intense “Big Axe” tie-breaker, congratulations to the Kilowatt Killshots representing Northwestern Rural Electric Co-Op for taking home the top prize against the Pink Pony Girls! The Kilowatt Killshots competed for United Way of Western Crawford County’s Imagination Library program, helping bring the joy of books to children from birth to age 5.
Other amazing teams included:
• Pink Pony Girls – Supports, Inc.
• ERA Deal Cutters – Toys for Tots
• ERA Lumber Listers – St. James Haven
• Bayshore Blade Crew – FCCA
• BLPF Bullseyes – United Way Community Improvement Center
A huge thank you to our incredible sponsors—Bayshore Homes, Inc., Bill Lawrence’s Personal Fitness, Northwestern REC, and TLC Senior Solutions. This event wouldn’t have happened without your support!
Shoutout as well to the MN Axe Masters and Paul McNulty at MN Axe/Movies at Meadville for being such fantastic hosts throughout the event.
And we can’t forget the style points! The Bayshore Blade Crew brought their A-game, with one member winning Best Individual Costume (flannel, suspenders, and boots perfection), while the Pink Pony Girls dazzled with Best Team Theme.
This may have been our first Battle of the Blades—but it definitely won’t be the last. Ideas are already sparking for round two…
Thank you again for showing up, showing out, and taking aim for our community. If you missed it this year, keep an eye out—you won’t want to miss the next one!

Rally your crew for Battle of the Blades 2.0! This high-energy fundraiser is gearing up to bring local teams together for a night of flying axes, fierce competition, and feel-good giving.
Teams will go head-to-head in a fast-paced, bracket-style axe-throwing tournament, all chasing that coveted top spot and the kind of bragging rights that echo long after the last axe lands. Each team can register four participants, but the excitement won’t stop at the main event. Expect mini-game challenges, a lively atmosphere, and plenty of candy, food, and beverages available for purchase throughout the night.
Here’s where it gets even better: you choose the cause. Teams will compete on behalf of their favorite charity, and the winning organization will receive a portion of the event’s net proceeds.
The date is still under wraps, but trust this, it’s one you’ll want circled the moment it’s announced. Sharpen your aim, gather your squad, and get ready for a night where competition meets community.
